AND WIDE. PLACE 10 OF THEM ONTO A LARGE PIECE OF CARDBOARD AT 1, 2, 5, 7, 10 INCHES APART SCATTERED ABOUT THE BOARD. PLACE THEM NEAR A LIGHT BULB TO CHARGE THEM. AFTER THEY ARE CHARGED BRING THE BOARD INTO A COMPLETELY DARK ROOM. SIT AND LOOK AT THE BOARD. ALLOW THE EYES ABOUT 5-10 MINUTES TO ACTIVATE VISUAL PURPLE AND ADJUST TO THE
DARKNESS. LOOK AT THE GLOW IN THE DARK PIECES. NOTICE THAT WHEN LOOKING DIRECTLY AT A PIECE, PLACING IT IN THE CENTER
OF THE VISUAL FIELD, THE PIECE DISAPPEARS. THIS OCCURS BECAUSE THE CENTER OF THE RETINA, (FOVEA CENTRALIS AND
MOST PARTS OF THE MACULA) ARE NOT ACTIVE DUE TO LACK OF LIGHT BECAUSE THE FOVEA CONTAINS ONLY CONES AND THE MACULA
